Microsoft announce a flagship new certification for IT Professionals

Microsoft have launched a new set of technical certifications reinvented for the cloud, reflecting and validating the changing role of IT Professionals as they develop cloud and hybrid computing expertise.

The existing MCTS, MCITP, and MCPD certifications are currently valuable in the market and will remain valuable as long as companies are using the technology covered in these certifications.

As new technologies are released, they will be released in the new certification structure. Over time, the MCTS, MCITP, and MCPD certifications will retire and will transition to a legacy status.

An afternoon with IBM Training in London

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to spend the afternoon at the Chef’s table with IBM Training UK at the Gordon Ramsey restaurant – Petrus – in London.

The afternoon was laid on by IBM Training UK for competition winners and we won the IBM Training Reseller prize for the highest revenue growth from first half of 2011 to first half of 2012.

 

We were treated to an 8 course lunch at the Chef’s table which is prominently positioned with a direct view of the kitchen where we could watch the chefs work their magic.

Upon arrival we were greeted with Champagne and canapés and introduced to our sommelier and waitress who would be looking after us for the afternoon.

New Agile Foundation & Practitioner course with a discount.

One of our preferred providers, Datrix Training, have added Agile Foundation and Practitioner to their list of training courses.
This course will run over 4 days Monday to Thursday with the foundation exam on the Wednesday afternoon and the practitioner exam on the Thursday afternoon.
This Agile Foundation & Practitioner course is based on the proven fundamentals within DSDM Atern.  The new certification provides the ability to deliver Agile Projects in organizations requiring standards, rigour and visibility around Project Management, while at the same time enabling the fast pace, change and empowerment provided by Agile.
Specifically delegates attending the Agile Foundation & Practitioner should be able to:-
Explain how to lay the foundations for successful agile projects
Explain how an agile project is managed
Clarifiy the different management styles needed for successful agile projects (compared to “traditional” projects)
